George Peterson, member of the cross ministry of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, holds a one-of-a-kind wooden chalice that he crafted from local wood. Peterson and the other members of the cross ministry meet weekly in Steve Mohling’s rural Hastings workshop to cut, polish and distribute wooden crosses and other creations to friends and strangers around the world.
